Sales Manager

Tropical Aquaculture Products, an industry leader in Aquaculture sales, marketing and logistics is seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Manager with a proven track record in fresh seafood sales to help achieve aggressive growth plans. Our commitment is to provide the best quality fresh seafood in the shortest time possible with exceptional customer service.

Summary: Work with Tropical’s existing customers and prospect with new customers across the United States and Canada to aggressively increase sales.  Develop volume projections and coordinate with the Logistics department to ensure adequate inventories.  This tenacious sales professional will be dedicated to meeting and exceeding sales goals. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead morning sales and logistics operations meeting
  • Participate in the development and execution of the sales plan
  • Effectively manage existing accounts that are assigned
  • Develop and manage relationships with prospective accounts to generate new business
  • Plan and project sales volume for assigned accounts for both the short and long term
  • Create and enter orders in system
  • Monitor Account Managers business trends and provide support where needed
  • Coordinate with Logistics and Account Managers to manage inventory issues
  • Build relationships, establish credibility and trust with all stakeholders
  • Understand each customer’s needs/product issues and resolve with effective solutions
  • Monitor customer receivables and participate in collection activities as needed
  • Maintain and submit accurate and timely daily reports
  • Notify management immediately of any account issues
  • Actively solve problems associated with sales
  • Keep up to date on competitive and industry activity and trends
  • Participate in marketing opportunities, food shows, and sales events
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in B2B sales or customer service
  • Seafood / perishable food experience required
  • Rotational on-call (evening/weekend/holiday) work is required
  • Spanish/Portuguese proficiency helpful

Work Locations:

  • May work remotely with office expenses covered by the company – or from the office in Maine
